Welcome to Stride Foot & Ankle

Your feet carry you through every run, every shift and every walk with the dog. When they hurt, everything slows down. We are here to change that, quickly.

From a first-time heel pain visit to ongoing diabetic foot care, our Hyde Park clinic pairs sports-medicine thinking with a relaxed, unhurried pace. You will see the doctor, understand your diagnosis and leave with a plan you can actually follow.

Meet your podiatrist

Dr. Marcus Bell, DPM

Founder · Board-certified foot & ankle surgeon

Dr. Bell has spent more than two decades helping patients get back to the things they love, whether that is a Saturday long run on Bayshore or a pain-free walk through the grocery store. He is known for straight talk, careful listening and treatment plans that start with the least invasive option.

He treats everything from plantar fasciitis and stress fractures to complex diabetic foot care, and he performs reconstructive surgery when it is truly the right choice. Outside the clinic, you will find him coaching youth track or logging miles along the river.

  • Board Certified, American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery

Why I treat athletes

“I ran competitively in college and spent a season sidelined by an injury nobody explained. I never want a patient to feel that way. My job is to tell you what is going on, what it will take, and when you can run again.”

Good questions

Before your first visit.

Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?
Most PPO plans let you book with us directly. Some HMO plans require a referral from your primary care provider, and our team is happy to check your plan before your visit.
How soon can I be seen?
New patients are usually seen within the same week. For fresh injuries like a sprain or suspected fracture, call us and we will do our best to see you the same or next day.
What should I bring to my first visit?
Bring a photo ID, your insurance card, a list of medications and the shoes you wear most often. If your concern is sport-related, bring your training shoes too.
Do you take X-rays in the office?
Yes. Our on-site digital X-ray means most patients get imaging, a diagnosis and a treatment plan in a single visit.
Are custom orthotics covered by insurance?
Coverage varies by plan. We verify your benefits before your fitting and give you a clear estimate, so there are no surprises.
How often should I have a diabetic foot exam?
At least once a year, and more often if you have reduced feeling in your feet or circulation concerns. We will recommend a schedule that fits your health.
Do you treat children and teen athletes?
Absolutely. We regularly see young athletes for heel pain, growth-plate irritation, flat feet and sports injuries, and we keep parents in the loop at every step.
Do you offer foot and ankle surgery?
Yes, when conservative care is not enough. Dr. Bell performs procedures at a nearby outpatient surgery center and handles your follow-up care here at the clinic.
